Oswald Harris Court Gunshot Victim Treated at Hospital

A man was treated Schneider Regional Medical Center Thursday evening for injuries suffered during a shooting at the Oswald Harris Court housing community, the V.I. Police reported.

According to police at 10:26 p.m. Aug. 27 the emergency call center received a report of shots fired in the Oswald Harris Court area. Officers at the scene discovered a male victim with multiple gunshot wounds.

The victim, whose name was not released in accordance with department policy, was transported to the hospital by ambulance for treatment.

At the hospital, the victim told police he was in the area of Building 4 when he heard gunshots. He told officers he ran into the archway of a building and realized he had been shot.

As of Friday afternoon the victim was listed in stable condition.

This case is under investigation and police urged anyone with information about the incident to contact the VIPD by calling 911, the Criminal Investigation Bureau at -340-774-2211 extension 5610, or the anonymous tip service, Crime Stoppers USVI, at 1-800-222-8477 (1800-222-TIPS).
