Warren Ulric Smalls Dies in Florida

Warren Ulric Smalls

Warren Ulric Smalls, better known as “Ric” or “Rico,” died on June 1 in Florida. He was 70 years old.

Warren Smalls was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon Smalls; brother, Ashton Smalls; sisters: Lillian Smalls, Ruth Lettsome and Ana Lettsome; and sister-in-law, Ilka Martin.

He is survived by his son, Daron Smalls; daughter, Sharica Smalls; brother, Jacob Smalls; sister, Ina Stout; grandchildren: Shardai Sylvester, DeShori, Daquan and Karissa Smalls; aunt, Lee Harrigan; uncle, Ashburn Stephens; special nieces: Lorilee Stout (Loli), Lena Stout Frett, Jeanette Luke-Anthony and Berecia Stout; great niece, Patricia George; great nephews: Terry Turnbull (Fed) and Tyrone Martin; special nephew, Lowell Amory Jr.; and many other nieces, nephews and cousins too numerous to mention.

He is also survived by brothers-in-law: Lorne Richards, Layton Leonard and Godfrey “Buck” Lennard; sisters-in-law: Lewana Richards, Delight Fleming and Marcia Petrus; special friends: Milton “Bull” Fret, Gregory Drew and family, Charles Jeter and family, Coach James Smith, Erwin and Jackie Knight and family, Butch Roberts and family, Butch Cooper and family, Earl DeWindt, Noel Martin and Pedrito Estrill. Special mention: CAHS Class of 1964 and Fisk University Class of 1968.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the first viewing from 7:30-9 a.m., Thursday, June 27, at the Celestial Chapel, Dan Hurley Home for Funerals.

The second viewing will be held at 9 a.m. followed by a service at 10 a.m., on Friday, June 28, at the Church of God of Prophecy, C5 Estate Hoffman. Interment will be at Eastern Cemetery, Smith Bay.

Arrangements are under the care of Dan Hurley Home for Funerals and Cremation Center of St. Thomas, St. John and St. Croix.
