STX Man Sentenced for Distributing Crack Cocaine

A 55-year-old St. Croix man, Bruce McIntosh, was sentenced Friday in District Court on a conviction for distribution of cocaine, U.S. Attorney Gretchen C.F. Shappert announced.

Visiting U.S. District Judge Anne E. Thompson sentenced McIntosh to 25 months in prison, followed by three years of supervised release, a $500 fine, and a $100 special assessment.

According to Shappert, a federal grand jury had indicted McIntosh, who is sometimes known as either Bird or Butch, on Sept. 15, 2015.

According to court documents, on June 12, 2014, at the Sunny Isle Shopping Center, McIntosh sold crack cocaine to a confidential informant for $300. Laboratory tests revealed that the drugs were cocaine base, a Schedule II controlled substance, with a net weight of 8.8 grams.

The case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration and Task Force Officers with the V.I. Police Department. The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Daniel H. Huston.
