Police ID Victim of Thursday’s Fatal Shooting

The V.I. Police Department on Saturday identified the victim of a Little La Grange shooting as 67-years-old Joseph Mark Graffis of Little La Grange, Frederiksted, whose body was found Thursday.

Graffis was identified by next of kin, the police said.

Graffis was found after his neighbors became concerned that they hadn’t seen him since hearing shots in the area on Tuesday. Officers Officers checked the neighborhood and discovered the remains of a Caucasian male with what appeared to be gunshot wounds to his torso.

Police urged anyone with any information to call the Criminal Investigation Bureau at 340-778-2211, the 911 call center, or the anonymous tip service, Crime Stoppers USVI, at 1-800-222-8477. Anyone who reports to Crime Stoppers a tip that leads to the resolution of a case can become eligible for an anonymous cash reward.
