The Virgin Islands Department of Education regrets to announce that ongoing construction at school sites receiving temporary modular classrooms has further delayed the opening of the schools in the St. Thomas – St. John District until Thursday, Sept. 27.
Schools scheduled to open and receive students on Sept. 27 are the Charlotte Amalie High School, Ivanna Eudora Kean High School, Yvonne E. Milliner-Bowsky Elementary School, and the Joseph Gomez Elementary School.
As construction progress is made, information on the opening of Addelita Cancryn Junior High School and Lockhart Elementary School will be released.
In the St. Croix District, the Eulalie Rivera Elementary School will open on Monday, Sept. 24, as previously released. Students attending the Arthur A. Richards Junior High School will also report to the John H. Woodson Jr. High School campus starting Monday, Sept. 24.
Arthur A. Richards will operate from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., while John H. Woodson’s current start and end times will remain the same. School buses will transport students to and from their standard pick-up and drop-off locations.
