Two Men Injured in Saturday Shooting on St. Croix

Two men were injured by gunfire Saturday evening in the Estate Plessen area of St. Croix, according to the V.I. Police Department.

At about 9:21 p.m. Saturday police received a report that a male showed up at the Juan F. Luis Memorial Hospital and was being treated for a gunshot wound.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the victim had been shot in the mid-section of his body in the vicinity of the Plaza Extra West in Estate Plessen. He had been transported to the hospital by private vehicle.

At 10;25 p.m. a second victim, also male and also with a gunshot wound, arrived at the hospital. He told police he has been at the Quick Serve Gas Station in Estate Plessen when he heard several shots and realized he had shot in the leg. He was transported to the hospital by private vehicle.

The Criminal Investigations Bureau is in charge of the investigation. Police urged anyone with information about the case to call the CIB at 340-778-2211, the 911 call center, or the anonymous tip service, Crime Stoppers USVI, at 1-800-222-8477.
