Police on Friday arrested D’Jon Heyliger, 23, of Bovoni and charged him with third degree assault.
According to the report from the V.I. Police Department, Heyliger was arrested on a warrant issued June 23, 2014, by the Magistrate Court.
Heyliger was charged with third-degree assault and mayhem for allegedly punching another male individual on April 27, 2014, in the area of the Fort Christian parking lot. The victim sustained injuries to his skull and lost sight in his right eye.
Bail for Heyliger was set as $25,000. Unable to post bail, he was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending his advice of rights hearing.
