Kemoi Thompson, a 24-year-old resident of Hospital Ground, was shot to death Sunday morning in the area of Bargain Grocery, formerly the Lima Grocery Store, and Such Is Life Bar, on Goat Street in Hospital Ground, the V.I. Police Department reported.
It was the 33rd homicide in the territory since the beginning of the year, the 18th on St. Thomas.
According to the VIPD, at 8:41 a.m. Sunday, the 911 emergency call center received a report of gunfire in the area. Outside of the bar, adjacent to the grocery store, responding officers found a man identified as Thompson bleeding profusely, having sustained multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to the Schneider Regional Medical Center by a private vehicle and at 8:41pm, succumbed to his injuries.
