Man Shot in Four Winds Plaza

A man was wounded in the head by a gunshot Sunday while he sat in a car at the Four Winds Plaza, according to the V.I. Police Department.

The 911 emergency center dispatched officers to the Schneider Regional Medical Center at 5:20 a.m. Sunday after receiving a report of a shooting victim being treated for a gunshot wound.

The 27-year-old victim, whose name was not released, told responding officers he had been in the back seat of a vehicle departing from the parking lot of Four Winds Plaza at roughly 5 a.m. when gun shots suddenly erupted and a projectile penetrated the rear glass of the vehicle. The victim was taken to the hospital immediately after being shot.

The incident is under investigation by the Criminal Investigation Bureau.
