Woman Charged with Forgery, Check Crimes

Officers from the V.I. Police Department’s Economic Crimes Unit Friday arrested Tasha Forbes, 41, of Anna’s Retreat, and charged her with check forging.

According to the police, officers executed an arrest warrant issued by the Magistrate Court of the Virgin Islands.

According to the warrant, Forbes was charged with forgery, grand larceny and obtaining money under false pretense. The charges stem from an incident that occurred in March, in which Forbes is accused of forging the signatures of her victims on several checks and cashing them.

Bail was set at $10,000. Unable to post bail, she was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending her advise of rights hearing.
