WAPA Announces Possible Electrical Service Interruptions

The V.I. Water and Power Authority announced possible electrical service interruptions to small sections of St. Thomas feeders on Friday. The authority is currently experiencing complications with Unit No. 23 and may be forced to rotate service interruptions to pockets of feeders – as needed and for approximately two hours at a time – in order to ensure stability of the system.

Rotations will be conducted in a manner to ensure service is retained by as many residential and commercial customers as possible, according to a statement from WAPA. Advance notice will be given of feeders selected for rotation by V.I. Alert, website notice and media release.

WAPA apologized for any inconvenience caused by the interruptions and said it would do its best to minimize the inconvenience to customers. For additional information, email communications@viwapa.vi.
