Two men, at least one carrying a handgun, robbed the El Tipico Bar and Restaurant in Contant on Saturday, according to the V.I. Police Department.
Witnesses said two male suspects made threats and took money from the cash register.
According to the report, police were notified of the robbery just before midnight. Witnesses told police that one suspect entered the establishment through the kitchen door and the second suspect may have entered through the front door. The suspects emptied the cash register and robbed two employees of their personal belongings before fleeing through the western door.
One suspect was wearing a white T-shirt with a bandana covering his face. He had braided hair and was wearing a hat. The second suspect was wearing a dark hooded jacket. That suspect also carried a silver handgun.
The suspects stole about $500 in cash as well as two ladies’ handbags.
