A 21-year-old Estate Glynn man was shot in the shoulder Saturday evening at the Hidden Island bar and restaurant, the V.I. Police Department reported.

The incident occurred at 10:45 p.m. Saturday. According to the preliminary police report, witnesses in the establishment said they heard several shots and saw the victim bleeding.

A concerned citizen took the victim to the Juan F. Luis Memorial Hospital in his private vehicle. The man was treated for a single gunshot wound to his left upper back.

The victim’s name was not released by police in accordance with their policy of not identifying non-fatal victims. The victim told officers he did not see who shot him and he does not know why anyone would want to shoot at him.
