Man Hit by Gunshot at Tutu High Rise

Criminal Investigation Bureau detectives on St. Thomas continued Tuesday to investigate the non fatal shooting of a 37-year-old man that occurred just before 4 p.m. Friday in the Tutu High Rise housing community.

The victim sustained at least one gunshot wound to his left leg, according to police, who said when they arrived on the scene the victim was lying in the stairwell of Building 10.

The victim told police he heard about three or four shots, then realized he had been hit. He said he did not see anyone in the area and did not know why anyone would want to shoot at him.

Anyone with information on the shooting can call detectives at 1-340-714-9834 or 1-340715-5522, the 911 emergency call center, or the anonymous tip service, Crime Stoppers USVI, at 1-800-222-8477.
