WTJX Fundraiser Will Feature an 'Enormous Feast'

An "Enormous Feast," the ninth annual WTJX Taste of Two Islands, will be from 6 to 10 p.m. Thursday, bringing more than 100 dishes from some of the territory’s best restaurants to the Antilles School’s Mark Marin Center on St. Thomas.

Tickets prices remain the same as last year: $45 for WTJX members, $50 in advance and $55 at the door. They can be purchased online at www.wtjx.org or from outlets including Mail Stop, Crown Bay Marina, Sugar & Spice Artistry, Yacht Haven Grande, and the USVI Hotel & Tourism Association on Raphune Hill.

All proceeds go to support the nonprofit Virgin Islands Public Television System, WTJX Channel 12.

Guests will enjoy food samples served by three dozen area restaurants and caterers, serving an average of three dishes each. Distributors will pour samples of more than 20 wines.

Continuous live entertainment will feature Spectrum Band with Lorna Freeman and “Soljah.”

Guests will receive a red carpet welcome and Taste Guidebook with details about each booth and the food and wine served. A free shuttle will operate to and from Havensight Shopping Mall.

WTJX will tape the event for broadcast on New Year’s Day. Guests might want to “dress to impress,” just in case the TV cameras focus on them.

Additional information is available online www.wtjx.org or by calling 774-6255, ext 236 or 246.
