Desiree Elizabeth Smith Dies

Desiree Elizabeth Smith, also known as “Desiree Bess” or “Des,” has died.
She is survived by her parents: Norwell and Clorise Smith; children: Aquandra Smith and Brandon Smith; brothers: Gregory E. Sr. and Michael A. Smith; sister, Sarah Maria Griffin; grandchildren: Tyrik and Tyra Rawlins, and Tyrell and Tynisha Jordan; aunts: Gracita Fredericks, Melanie Joseph, Jae Margetson, Regina Smith, Naomi Joseph, Berenice Joseph and Eudelta “Cindy” Brown; uncles: Kelvin A. Joseph Sr., Stedman., Clayton and Wayne Joseph, Isborne Fredericks and Clevorne Edwards; nieces: Chanel Smith, Jordan Griffin, Jazmyne, Chyenne and Kaliyah Smith; and nephews: Gregory Smith Jr., Corey Smith, Bryant Smith and Cameron Griffin.
She is also survived by cousins: Raymond Bean, Alexander Joseph, Kelvin K. Joseph, Randy Joseph Sr., Randy Joseph Jr., Tyreke Joseph, Leroy Petersen Jr., Anthony “Tony” Petersen, Ashbern Joseph, Robin Mireles, Tonia Schneider, Chanel Joseph, Richard Joseph, Mounia Joseph, Jhansi Joseph, Jehanne Taylor, E’Tegra Symonette, Blair Joseph, Laureen Petersen, Linda Williams, Liston and Diane Foy, Annette Foy, Ina Blyden, Yolanda Paul, Mario “Chico” Foy, Glen “Marley” Foy, Gloria Davis, Monet Davis, Z’Nae Joseph, Olin Mireles, Sydney Schneider, Christian Bean, Marcus Bean, Emily Bean, Elizabeth Bean and Kalel Margetson; brother-in-law, Solomon Griffin; sister-in-law, Patricia V. Smith; godfather, Leroy Petersen Sr.; extended family: staff of Seaview Nursing Facility, Alice Jordan, Eleanor Garcia, Beverly Walcott, the Department of Tourism, Rosemarie Parsons, William “Champagne” Chandler and Ashana Brown; as well as other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
There will be a viewing held at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 13, at Turnbull’s Funeral. Interment will be at Western Cemetery No. 2.
