Roy Dalton Leerdam Dies at 68

Roy Dalton LeerdamRoy Dalton Leerdam, better known as Dalton, died on Feb. 8 at his residence. He was 68 years old.
He is survived by his wife, Maxine Kuntz-Leerdam; sons: Roy Dalton Leerdam Jr. and Ray Leerdam; grandchildren: Latisha Leerdam-Ahmed, Tashawn (Africa), Lakysha, Shinejah, Emperor, Shanijah, Soulijah, Ithiopia and IHYalyah Leerdam; great-grandchildren: Abijah and Elijah Ahmed; daughter-in-law, Carmona Leerdam; sisters: Mavis Leerdam-Pearson, Easlyn Leerdam-Ruan, Joyce Leerdam-Salem, Joan Leerdam-Mason, Jean Leerdam-Niles and Ferna Leerdam; brother, Alvin Leerdam; sisters-in-law: Lucille Fredericks, Marva Leerdam, Judy Kuntz-Herbert, Glencia Kuntz-Creque and Rubina Kuntz; and brothers-in-law: Arthur Niles, Samuel Mason, James Ruan, Hubie Pearson, Calito, Goven, Ramong, Calvin and Atnel Kuntz.
He is also survived by nieces: Verlin, Linda, Laurice and Louisa Leerdam, Michelle Pearson-Benjamin, Era Fredericks-Sundar, Corlis Ruan-O’Rally, Gail Ruan-Ells, Kim Ruan, Carolye and Laureen Mason, AnnMarie Mason-Richards, Debra Niles-Harrigan, Angelique and LeAnn Joseph, and Bridgette Niles-Conow; nephews: George Leerdam, Jr., Horace Pearson, Karl and Wayne Fredericks, Barry and Brent Leerdam, Neil Ruan, Ken Mason, Shaiff Salem, Arturo, Anthony and Navado Niles, Julian Maduro and Maurice Joseph; aunt, Elvira Dennery; uncle, Charles H. Thomas; aunt-in-law, Miriam Martin; special friends: Keith and Elizabeth Dominique, Charles and Mona Jones, Denise and Cornell Donadelle, Eulaine Jones, Deneece Cromartie, Clifford Martin, Wendell George, Richard Creque, Norma Creque, Dorothy Sprauve, Victor Creque, Juliet Berg, Andrea Smith, Allen, Donald, Derrick, Alvin and Maurice Martin, Eugene Berg, Regina, Leonard and Valerie Matthews, and Ashley.
A viewing will take place at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 19, at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church. Interment will be at Eastern Cemetery.
