Pistarckle Theater proudly presents celebrated singer Denise Hummer in “Lady Day at Emerson’s Bar & Grill.” Hummer will portray legendary singer Billie Holiday in one of Billie’s last night club performances. Featuring over 14 classic Billie Holiday songs, this show tells the story of her life and loves, her tragedies and successes, her disappointments and her joy, as the singer shares her storied life with music and memories.
Pistarckle Theater will forgo its usual theater seating and set up cabaret tables and chairs to recreate a small club atmosphere with bar service during the show. It’s the type of atmosphere that Billie Holiday preferred, even more than Carnegie Hall. This is a unique theatrical experience — part night club act, part theater.
