IGBA Meeting: Native Landscaping for Green Homes

The Island Green Building Association (IGBA) will have a free, public seminar from 5:30-6:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 12, at The Marketplace on St. John, 2nd floor.
David Hamada, executive director of St. George Village Botanical Gardens on St. Croix, will be the main speaker. Hamada will share a virtual tour of the botanical gardens as well as his expertise in native flora of the islands that can be incorporated as part of green building on St. John. Come learn how beautiful island homes can be when surrounded by native flowers, plants and trees that save cost, save water and support local ecosystems. Other experts and homeowners will share knowledge and discussion as part of this meeting.
Gift certificates for IGBA’s ReSource Depot for recycled home and building materials will be raffled off to attendees of this meeting. The public is welcome to this free seminar. Call 227-1110 or visit www.igba-stjohn for more information.
