Readers of Professional Pilot Magazine voted Bohlke International Airways on St. Croix the best fixed-base operator in the Caribbean, prompting words of praise from Gov. John deJongh Jr.
“Congratulations are due to an esteemed member of St. Croix’s business community. The Pro Pilot rankings recognize the excellent service provided by Bohlke, the outstanding work of more than two dozen dedicated employees, and the vision of Billy Bohlke, who founded his family business more than 50 years ago,” deJongh said in a statement Tuesday.
Bohlke reached the top slot based on its facilities, amenities, value and other criteria.
Bohlke provides fueling, catering, flight planning, aircraft rentals, flight training and other services to pilots and aircraft operators stationed in or passing through St. Croix. The V.I. company edged out two Bahamian operators to take first place; last year Bohlke was second in the rankings.
More than 4,000 votes were cast by subscribers of Professional Pilot for its 39th Annual Preferences Regarding Aviation Services and Equipment survey.
