In honor of V.I. History Month, the students at Ulla F. Muller Elementary will host a cultural celebration from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 28. Along with a Maypole demonstration and performance by the school’s quadrille dancers, the school’s namesake, Ulla F. Muller, will also be on campus.
"The students are so excited," Muller Principal Symra Dee Brown, said Monday. "We plan to shower her with poems, stories, songs — anything we can to show her how much she means to us. It is always very important for our students to know their history and to honor those individuals that have made such significant contributions to our society, and Ms. Muller’s legacy, the impact that she has made on this school and our community, are definitely things worth celebrating."
The Office of the St. Thomas-St. John District Superintendent has focused this V.I. History Month on spotlighting school namesakes, especially those — such as Ulla Muller, Gladys Abraham, Yvonne Milliner-Bowsky and Guy Benjamin — who still play an active role on the various campuses and continue to interact with the students.
