Man Arrested in Cruz Bay on Drug Charge

Police on St. John arrested Patrick Stanley, 43, when they observed him in Cruz Bay rolling a marijuana cigarette at about 9 p.m. Thursday near a beach bar. He was charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute.

When police checked the suspect, he had 13 small plastic bags of what was later field tested to be marijuana. Stanley also had a three-inch switchblade in his pants pocket.

Police Department spokesman Melody Rames said she had no information on where Stanley lived.

Stanley was arrested and placed on a $10,000 bail. He was remanded to the custody of the Bureau of Corrections pending his court appearance.
