DOH Community Health Clinic Offers Free Immunizations, Screenings

The V.I. Department of Health’s Community Health Clinic and Immunization Program will offer health screening services for residents during a day-long health fair at the Charles Harwood Medical Complex on St. Croix.
The fair will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 18, at the Community Health Clinic. Services will include free flu vaccines as well as glucose and cholesterol screening, according to a press release issued Monday by the V.I. Department of Health.
The flu season, which began in October, lasts through February, and the clinic decided to offer the free flu shots to ensure that residents, especially the elderly, accustomed to participating in annual outreach events held by private and civic organizations, would get the vaccine at no cost.
Souvenirs and other health education items will be distributed.
