Joseph Emanuel Blyden Sr.

Joseph Emanuel Blyden Sr. died peacefully at his home on Oct. 15.
He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Blyden (Ms. Edna); son, Joseph Emanuel Blyden Jr.; Daughters:Maxine Holmes, Patricia Henderson, Brenda Blyden and Faith Edwards; sons-in-law: Clarence Holmes, Sr. Ethelson Edwards Sr. and James Henderson Sr.; sisters: Ianthe Kitt, Maud Andrews, Joyce Jones, Una Rabsatt, Gracia Blyden, Docena Blyden and Rosemary George; brothers: James Allan Blyden Sr., Rudolph Blyden and Raphael Blyden; sisters-in-law: Beryl Blyden, Joyce C. Blyden, Rhoda Burton, Doris Burton and Irose Burton; brothers-in-law: Adolph Rabsatt, Gregory George and Edrick Jones; aunt, Miriam Rhymer; godchild, Judy Fredericks; 24 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and many other relatives from the Blyden, Christopher, Venzen, Farrington, and Frazer families.
A viewing will be held from 8:30-10 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 10 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 28, at Emanuel Baptiste Church. Burial will be in the Western Cemetery No. 1.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Emmanuel Baptist Church Missions Fund P.O. Box 502445, St. Thomas,VI 00805.
Arrangements are being rendered by Turnbull’s Funeral Home.
