Vernon A. Grant, better known as "Ogamee," died on Sept. 16.
He is survived by his mother, Viola Grant; godfather, Alvin McBean; adopted sons: Andreko and Osayande Francis; adopted daughters: Teresa, Torya, Durrant and Myoshi Francis; brothers: Cyril Baa, Justin, Keith, Albion Francis, Emile, Gilbert and Salomon Kitnurse; sisters: Audrey Milliner, Janet Body and Patricia Kitnurse; aunts: Eleanor Grant, Gwendelyn DeBerry and Patricia Beatty; and uncles: Alvin, Wilfred and Vincent Grant.
There will be a first viewing from 5-7 p.m. on Sept. 28, at Turnbull’s Funeral Home.
A second viewing will be held at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 10 a.m. on Sept. 29, at St. Andrew’s Church. Burial will be in Smith Bay Eastern Cemetery.
