VIPD officials have identified a man found shot to death Tuesday morning at a Christiansted apartment complex as Eugene Williams. According to the release, Williams is believed to have been in his 20s.
According to St. Croix Police Chief Christopher Howell, 911 emergency dispatchers notified officers at about 6:22 a.m. that shots had been reported fired at Harbor View Apartments in Estate Orange Grove.
Police arrived on the scene within minutes and discovered Williams’ lifeless body with multiple gunshot wounds. Emergency medical technicians could not detect any signs of life, and Williamswas later pronounced dead by medical personnel.
It was the 30th homicide in the territory this year, the 21st on St. Croix.
Howell said the case is being investigated by members of the Criminal Investigation, Major Crimes and Special Operations bureaus.
