Man Arrested for Restaurant Theft Also Wanted in West Virginia

Police on St. John arrested Todd Bermanski, 28, shortly after 11 a.m. Tuesday and charged him with grand larceny when he admitted to stealing more than $300 from a Cruz Bay restaurant where he was employed as a cook, the V.I. Police Department reported Wednesday.

During Tuesday’s investigation, a National Crime Information Center records check determined Bermanski was also wanted in West Virginia on drug and parole violation charges. Police said the arrest warrant for Bermanski was issued one day before he was arrested on St. John.

Bermanski is a native of Maryland living in Gifft Hill. His bail was set at $35,000, and he was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending further court action.
