Super Weekend at Yacht Haven Grande Goes to Good Cause

Through Sunday, locals will be able to spend a fun-filled Super Bowl weekend at Yacht Haven Grande while raising funds for charity.

Coors Light, the official beer sponsor of the National Football League and Super Bowl XLC, has partnered with Yacht Haven and Youth Lifeline America for "One Super Weekend," which will feature a three on three flag football tournament, football seminar for women and Super Bowl Party.

General admission to the events is free to the public. But a limited amount of VIP passes are also available for a $125 donation that includes three days of open bar, food and all access passes, according to a statement from the Youth Lifeline organization, which will be using the proceeds to benefit children across the territory.

Youth Lifeline America is a non-profit organization in the Virgin Islands that "harnesses the powerful influence of arts, entertainment and sports to educate and inspire youth across the territory," the statement said. The organization has sponsored a charity toy drive for children during the holidays, and recently put together a weeklong football camp for children featuring several NFL stars, including the organization’s chief executive officer Roland Williams.

"Coors Light is proud to partner with Youth Lifeline America and Yacht Haven Grande to present such an exciting community event to the territory to benefit charity," said James Vaughn, sales and marketing manager for Bellows International Ltd.

The schedule of events is as follows:

  • Saturday, Feb. 5 to Sunday, Feb. 6: three on three flag football tournament from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at field 1 & 2 at Yacht Haven Grande;
  • Saturday, Feb. 5: football seminar for women at 4 p.m. at Yacht Haven’s main stage;
  • Sunday, Feb. 6: post-game Super Bowl party starting at noon at Fat Turtle.
