Luis Ayala, a 26-year-old resident of Estate William’s Delight, was shot and killed Sunday night, according to the V.I. Police Department.
According to police, the shooting took place at about 10:30 p.m. Sunday. Ayala was pronounced dead about an hour later at the Juan F. Luis Hospital.
Police and emergency medical technicians were notified of the shooting through the 911 emergency dispatch. When police arrived on the scene in the private section of Estate Williams Delight, they found Ayala lying in the yard of the residence.
He was transported to the hospital by ambulance for treatment and was pronounced dead about an hour later.
Ayala had been shot several times, according to the medical staff.
The Major Crime and Criminal Investigation Bureau detectives are investigating the case.
