V.I. National Park Declares ‘Fee Free Day’ on Veterans Day

In recognition of Veterans Day, Thursday, Nov. 11, Virgin Islands National Park has declared a fee free day. All visitors to Trunk Bay Beach on St. John will be admitted free. V.I. National Park Superintendent Hardgrove said, “This day recognizes the sacrifice and service all who served in the military have made for our country, and for that we are grateful.”
Trunk Bay Beach is one of the most visited beaches on St. John, and is home to an underwater trail where swimmers are able to snorkel over the reef and read the plaques which identify coral and fish below.
Visitors who plan to visit Trunk Bay Beach during this Veterans Day weekend are encouraged to ride safari taxis or carpool in order to avoid overcrowding in the Trunk Bay parking lot.
