Allison Peter won the gold medal in the 200m with a time of 23.83 at the Caribbean Field and Track Association (CARIFTA) Junior Championships in the Cayman Islands, according to a press release from The Virgin Islands Track and Field Federation (VITFF).

She was recruited by virtually all the top track and field colleges in the U.S.A. She has won two gold medals, two silver medals and two bronze medals in the past three years at CARIFTA. She has one more year of eligibility for CARIFTA.

Peter outclassed the 200m field on Monday with a time 23.29,
and according to most experts, she has great potential in the 400m.
Sporting the new V.I. National Team uniforms provided by Mizuno, she
dominated the 200m final with her victory over second-place finisher
Tynia Gaither of the Bahamas, whose time was 23.83 and Diandre Gilbert
of Jamaica, who finished third in 23.85. Peter joins 400m hurdler Leslie
Murray as a qualifier for the IAAF World Junior Championships to be held
 in Canada this summer.
