Peter outclassed the 200m field on Monday with a time 23.29, and according to most experts, she has great potential in the 400m. Sporting the new V.I. National Team uniforms provided by Mizuno, she dominated the 200m final with her victory over second-place finisher Tynia Gaither of the Bahamas, whose time was 23.83 and Diandre Gilbert of Jamaica, who finished third in 23.85. Peter joins 400m hurdler Leslie Murray as a qualifier for the IAAF World Junior Championships to be held in Canada this summer.
VITFF is accepting donations toward the support the team members. The current registration drive for athletes, coaches, technical officials, volunteers and supporters is underway.
