Rotary Club Increases Scholarship Amounts for College Bound Youth

In recognition of the increased cost of a higher education for today, Rotary Club of St. Croix Mid-Isle has taken bold action to serve the community’s youth. The club has increased the scholarship amount for upcoming scholarships, effective immediately. The award in its Carlton Hodgson Memorial will now be $1,500 a year to local high school seniors that qualify, based primarily on financial need and commitment to Rotary ideals of service above self. Furthermore, the club will now award two academic scholarships each year instead of one to St. Croix students, to be continued for the student’s college career of up to four years if a ‘B’ grade average is maintained.

In addition, in support of students wishing to pursue a technical or practical education, Two annual scholarships named in memory of deceased club member Pat Henry in the amount of $1,500 each will now be awarded. The same conditions apply to these scholarships as the academic ones.
Application forms can be obtained by contacting Rotary Club of St. Croix Mid–Isle at midislestx@msn.com Forms will also be available through school senior guidance counselors.
