Maria M. Felix Ventura Dead at 82

Maria M. Felix Ventura

Maria M. Felix Ventura, also known as "Malu” or “Mama," of Elisa’s Retreat died on Feb. 1. She was 82 years old.

She is survived by her daughter, Maria A. Belardo; adopted daughter, Amarilys Rodriguez; sons: Rogelio Felix Jr., Hector L. Felix and Norbin Felix, adopted sons: Jesus Diaz, Leslie John Coasar and Juan Velez; grandchildren: Edwin Felix, Vilmarie Rodriguez, Maria Margie Felix, Angelica Felix, Keren Felix, Maria St. Kitts, Luz Ramos, Aurelio Ramos Jr., Maritza DeCosta, Tamara Belardo, Eliezer Belardo, Norbin Felix Jr., Neftali Felix and Merari Felix; 24 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by sisters: Juana Bermudez, Carmen Ventura and Tabita Nieves; brothers; Arturo, Jeronimo, Carlos, Carmelo and Luis Chivo Ventura, and Jesus Ledesma; daughters-in-law: Rosa S., Ruth D. and Iris D. Felix; sons-in-law: Pastor Victor Belardo and Aurelio Ramos Sr.; brother-in-law, Basilio Felix Sr.; sisters-in-law: Catalina Ruiz and Carmen Felix; and special friends: Carmen Belardo, Shirley O’Reilly, Rita and Victor Castro, Carmen Quinones, Attorney Eddie Rivera, Ms. Connor, Antonio Figueroa, the Hodge family, the Sealey family, Iglesia Rios de Agua Viva, Christian Soto, Maria Rivera and Juana Velez; as well as other relatives and friends too numerous to mention. Special thanks to: Dr. Jacqueline Thompson, Dr. C. Franklin, the Charles Harwood Medical staff, Dr. Erol Hobdy, the Gov. Juan F. Luis Hospital staff and everyone who somehow played a role in the life of Maria Felix Ventura.
A viewing will take place at 10 a.m. and a funeral service at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 9, at the Iglesia de Dios Pentecostal M.I. La Grande Princess. Interment will follow at Kingshill Cemetery. The family requests that mourners wear festive colors.
