With Gov. John deJongh Jr. in attendance, the V.I. Retired Police Organization honored several of its own, along with community notables, at its annual luncheon Sunday.
Honored were Cpl. Leopold Benjamin (retired), Rev. Lenroy Cabey of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church; Lt. Iris Challenger (retired); Granville Christopher, retired police corporal and current member of the VIPD’s Cold Case Squad; former senator and businessman Roosevelt David; Deputy Police Chief Dwayne DeGraff, V.I. "Today’s honorees are well-known members of our community, some are retired and some are not, but all continue to be active and involved in the betterment of our society,” deJongh said at the luncheon, according to a Government House statement.
