UVI Hosts Conference on Legislative Policy on Developmental Disabilities

The University of the Virgin Islands and the UVI Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities will hold the 6th annual “Voices That Count” Legislative Policy Forum. It will take place from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 21, in the North West Wing of Great Hall, on the UVI St. Croix campus. The conference will begin at 9 a.m., and breakfast and lunch will be served.
This year the forum will focus on the following topics: ADA compliance and accessible handicap parking; improving inclusive school outcomes; effective emergency preparedness; and accessing the future: making homes “visit-able.”
There is no fee for the forum, but space is limited so registration is required by Oct. 16. Call Gerrin Hanna at 692-1919 or e-mail ghanna@uvi.edu or call Stephanie Barnes, conference consultant, at 626-3330 or e-mail viaautismnetwork@gmail.com
