Individuals interested in acquiring a basic level of skill in the English language are urged to register for a course being hosted by the University of the Virgin Islands’ Community Engagement and Lifelong Learning (UVICELL) Center. English for Spanish Speakers will be held from 6-8 p.m., Tuesdays and Thursdays, starting Aug. 4. All sessions will be held at the UVICELL Center, located in the Joseph A. Simpson Building in Frederiksted.
The course is designed for Spanish speakers with no prior knowledge of the English language but would like to acquire a basic level of competence in understanding and speaking English. Participants will learn how to recognize basic English words, use words in the correct context during conversation, hold a basic conversation in English and much more.
