AWC Kicks Off Monthly Adoption Event

ShyloThe St. Croix Animal Welfare Center will host the first of a series of monthly adoption events at Cost U Less on Saturday.
AWC pets will be showcased at Cost U Less in the hopes that store patrons will want to take home more than just groceries. The following canines will be at the store from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. greeting the St. Croix community in the hopes of finding a forever home:
— Shylo, a red and white male Jack Russel terrier mix
— Razor, a brown female ridgeback mix
— Leaha, a black female pom mix
— Fiddy Cent, a male tan and white hound/shepherd mix.
Beginning in August, adoption events will be held the first Saturday of the month at Cost U Less.
“We sincerely appreciate this collaboration with Cost U Less because it allows AWC pets exposure that they might not otherwise receive,” said shelter coordinator Gretchen Sherrill. “We welcome the opportunity to Fiddyshow off our pets, provide information about our programs and remind the St. Croix community of the good work we perform every day.”
Adoption fees are $65 and include vet treatments given to the pet, spay/neuter surgery and a VI dog license. Further information about pet adoption can be obtained by visiting the center at 32 Clifton Hill during adoption hours, 12:30 to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Information about the center and volunteering to help can be obtained by calling 778-1650, visit the center’s website at www.StCroixAWC.org, or sending an e-mail to communications@stcroixawc.org.
