Letter to Senators: Pull the Plug

Dear Source:
I sent the following letter to the St. Croix Senators of the 28th Legislature of the Virgin Islands. I urge everyone in the territory to do the same.
"Dear Senators: The delegates to the 5th Constitutional Convention have flagrantly disregarded the mandates written by the 25th Legislature in Act 6688, specifically Section (1) (c) which states: "To avoid a (sic) lengthy public hearings, discussions, additional fees and other expenses, the Convention shall review and adopt provisions of the Constitution of the
Virgin Islands, previously approved by the Fourth Constitutional Convention which are considered by the Convention to be standard and of a non-controversial nature."
On the contrary, Convention delegates have wasted time and taxpayer money devoting countless hours debating the same non-standard and controversial provisions that doomed previous Constitutional Conventions. The Convention has been given several extensions and appropriations of millions of dollars and has still failed to produce a workable document.
Senators, it's time to pull the plug. I urge you to not grant another extension or another cent of public funds to this failed Convention."
My wife was patient enough to collect the e-mail addresses and office phone numbers of our St. Croix Senators and published them for the benefit of readers of our blog. For the convenience of your readers, I've included that list, as well as e-mails for St. Thomas senators, as listed on the 28th Legislature's Web site.
