Author Book Signings Scheduled for Three Venues, March 6-8

March 5, 2009 – Undercover Books in Gallows Bay will host a book signing by Gloria I. Joseph, Ph.D. from 6-8 p.m., on Friday, March 6. Come meet the author and purchase an autographed copy of "On Time and In Step: Reunion on the Glory Road."
The classic and innovative novel is based on actual historical figures that have departed from the earth, but live again in the hereafter on "the Glory Road" that becomes the stage for heroic world figures to meet, reunite, discuss and analyze the past, predict the future, and celebrate the peace and beauty of their final home. The novel's protagonists are Sojourner Truth and Malcolm X, who dwell in Revolutionary's Retreat, the resting grounds for men and women of all races, cultures and beliefs who took radical actions to help create a just world.
Joseph is a renowned scholar, activist, published author and educator with a B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from New York University, City College of New York and Cornell University. She is professor emeritus of Hampshire College and has spent more than 30 years in academia. Her travels, global teaching and research excursions, have shaped her unique worldview and perspectives reflected in her literary works.
Dr. Joseph's International Women's Month 2009 book signings will continue at 1-3 p.m., on Saturday, March 7, at Per Ankh (at the corner of Mahogany Road in Frederiksted on the Old Montessori School Grounds, north of Frederiksted Ballpark) and from 3-5 p.m., Sunday, March 8, at Lalita's Restaurant (Kalima Holistic Center across from Government House on King Street, Christiansted).
