Frederica O. James-Joseph Dead at 84

Feb. 26, 2009 – Frederica O. James-Joseph, better known as "Miss James" or "Freddie," died on Feb. 20, at Roy Schneider Regional Medical Center, St. Thomas. Famous for her specials and carrot cake, she was employed at the Ramada Hotel until she retired in 1986.
She is survived by her daughters: Patsy Rose, Sonia Harrigan, Josette Harrigan, Barbara La Ronde and Selecia James; brothers: Anderson and Abraham Harrigan; stepchildren: Joycelyn and Orien Joseph, and Beverly Moses; sister, Rose Rogers, former daughter-in-law, Minerva Harrigan; 53 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by special nieces and nephews: Zulema Van Heyningen, Alecia Gumbs, Edwin Hodge and Dr. Caswell Harrigan; special friends: Collette Monroe, Thelma Richardson and Desmond Maynard Esq.
There will be a first viewing held from 7:30-9 p.m., Friday, Feb. 27, at Davis Funeral Home Chapel. A second viewing will take place at 9 a.m. and a funeral service at 10 a.m., on Saturday, Feb. 28, at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church. Interment will follow at Western Cemetery No. 2.
All funeral arrangements are by Davis Funeral Home, 774-1464.
