Is There No Voice of Reason?

Dear Source:
Just when the Virgin Islands public thought they had seen everything, along comes the latest embarassing fiasco of our delegates to the Constitutional Convention. If ever we have seen the blatent waste of hundreds of thousands of dollars, this is it. And, the delegates continue to make this effort, to create a document into a spectacle beyond the worst soap opera we have ever seen. Havng a delegate state at one of these effortless meetings ,"Today was a manisfestation of demonic activity at work because we left out the invocation ", presents a serious consideration regarding the sanity of these ill fated proceedings. We are more than stunned. Spending 10 hours of time to form a quorum? The public paying for transportation, breakfast, lunch and dinner while people just fight? Deciding that public offices can only be held by native born people also shows that this process is not all inclusive of people and their talents.
Our new President states, "we are not red states, we are not blue states, we are the United States", and yet, we have a body in the Virgin Islands that proceeds to form an exclusionary document and is oblivious to the fact that this is in violation of the equal protection clause. Instead of getting with the program of encompassing all people and their talents and gifts to assist our community, they proceed to continue with this ill fated concept of seperating people into catagories.
One delegate in his comments on compromise said "The only compromise I have for you is a stick of dynamite". That says it all. We have had enough of this horrendeous waste of our hard earned money, and we are also totally embarassed that this group is representing us. Is there no voice of reason in this entire mess? Enough is enough…the people have had it, go ask them what they are thinking about what the delegates themselves have been quoted as "foolishness". We just call it ignorant insanity.
