Man Dies From Gunshots

Feb. 1, 2009 — A 52-year-old St. Thomas man shot Friday in his home in the Kirwin Terrace housing community later died of his injuries.
The victim, Ray Petersen, was in his home at about 11:15 p.m. Friday when a person or persons began firing gunshots outside the apartment, according to police reports. The shots struck Petersen at least once. He was taken to the Roy Lester Schneider Regional Medical Center, where he later died.
The case has been assigned to the Major Crimes detectives, who are following up on all leads.
Anyone with information about this crime is urged to call Police Chief Rodney F. Querrard at 715-5548, police emergency 911, or Crime Stoppers USVI at 1-800-222-TIPS. The police department is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of any murder suspect.
