Dear Source:
I read, with interest, Mr. Frankel's article on the failure of keeping schools, in the Virgin Islands, open for the Inauguration. I couldn't agree more.
We get updates from our family up north about our little cousins and school. They were excited to see Obama become our first black president. They were as excited, to discuss all of this in a classroom setting. And, the discussion didn't end there, they took it home and spoke about their experiences well into the night with their family. They knew, the youth and the internet put Obama in office. They're ten years old.
I'm surprised at the new commissioner of education. I thought she would bring change to a school system that needed it.
A missed opportunity. Let's not miss any more opportunities. These kids need all the opportunities they can get. Hey, I just used opportunities three times in three sentences, and now four. I need to go back to school.
