St. Croix Residents Must Dispose of Green Waste at Estate Slob

Oct. 29, 2008 – The VI Waste Management Authority reminds St. Croix residents that, effective Oct. 21, the Debris Management Site at Estate Slob has been accepting Hurricane-Omar-related green or yard waste. Residents must dispose of this green or yard debris at the site between 6 a.m. and 8 p.m., daily.
To access the Estate Slob site, travel northbound on Route 683 from the Centerline Road intersection at Central High School toward Kingshill Cemetery. The site's entrance is across from the cemetery. Residents are asked to refrain from placing any green or yard waste at any of the bin sites.
Those transporting hurricane-related yard or green waste and other debris are reminded that all vehicles transporting such items that extend above the side of the vehicle are to secure the load by covering it with a tarp. A violation of this regulation may result in a citation with a minimum fine of $1000 per violation.
Hurricane-related scrap metal as well as construction and demolition (C&D) waste or debris will continue to be accepted at the Anguilla and Bovoni landfills and Susannaberg Transfer Station. It should be placed in the designated locations as directed by WMA staff.
