U.S.V.I. Soccer: The New Vibes Bounce Back to Win

Oct. 24, 2008 – In the St. Thomas Region's Thursday night action at the Lionel Roberts Stadium, the New Vibes rebounded from their first season loss this past Tuesday to edge the Central Link 2-0. The team scored a goal in each half for the victory–Alvin Joseph scored in the first half and Magnum Jn Baptiste in the second. Both teams missed golden opportunities, but clearly the Central Link had only themselves to blame since they squandered the better chances.
Earlier in the evening, cellar-dwellers the Raymix had their second consecutive upset when they tied 1-1 with Laraza. The Raymix held a 1-0 half-time lead as Hubert Lee scored 25 minutes into the half. Laraza's Emmanuel Terane equalized in the second half, but they were denied any more goals by a stingy Raymix defense as they desperately tried for the win.
Action will continue at 4 p.m., Sunday Oct. 26, at the UVI Grounds when the Raymix face the Waitikubuli.
