Dear Source:
While stopped at the Sunny Isles intersection this morning, I glanced up, as many do (including children of reading age), to see what was playing. Perhaps I would take my three-year-old daughter to her first movie over the weekend.
The titles read: Disaster Movie, Death Race, Traitor, Bangkok Dangerous (without the "g"), Righteous Kill, Babylon A.D. and The Rockers.
The light turned green and I drove away feeling a little unsettled to say the least.
Also, I wondered whether the movies reflected the demand or the supply of our seemingly fear based society.
Have we become desensitized to horror and terror now they are the dominating topics in the "news" and shock/reality TV genre?
A deep sigh later, I consciously gave thanks for beaches, parks, puppies, grandparents, birthday parties, pools, play dates and good old Mary Poppins!
