Reichhold Center Youth Moviemaking Workshop Premieres Film

July 31, 2008 – Reichhold Center for the Arts' Youth Moviemaking Workshop premiers its seventh film, "The Project," with a red-carpet premier at 7 p.m., on Saturday, Aug. 9, in the Reichhold Theatre. The premiere is free and open to the public.
The film is about love, friendship and family struggles, and was produced, written and directed by the 15 students in the program. Jordan, played by Adonte Donastorg, finds himself starved for attention and decides to run away from home. He leaves behind an older sister, Renee (Hannah Carty), and their mom. Renee enlists a school friend, Sean (Richard Norman), to help her find Jordan. What follows is a poignant story of how teens deal with the effects of divorce.
During the seven-week program, the students, ranging in ages from 13 to 17, developed ideas for this final project. They worked on individual projects such as silent films, claymation, music videos and short films. The group also recorded a public service announcement for the Virgin Islands Council on the Arts.
Reichhold Center's workshop is sponsored by the Departments of Education and Human Services.
