Educational Complex H.S. Issues Uniform Guidelines

July 31, 2008 – Kurt Vialet, principal of the St. Croix Educational Complex High School, reminds parents, guardians and students of the following guidelines for the school's uniform policy:
Female Students:
Skirt: Plaid box or accordion pleated, no shorter than knee length. The back of the skirt must reach the bend at the back of the knee. No designs, yokes, bibs, cummerbund waists, bibs, gathers wraps, splits or skorts will be allowed.
Top: White, regular-fit, short-sleeve, cotton pullover or shirt buttoned down at the front with a collar. Tops are not to have embellishments with the plaid material of the skirt.
Shoes: (A) Black, brown or gray shoes. No slides, mules, or high-heels, plastic/jelly or ballerina flats. (B) Sneakers: black, white or gray only. No open back sneakers.
Socks: White or blue socks only and they must be must be visible above the shoe/sneaker while wearing the school uniform.
Jewelry: One watch, one small pair of earrings. Chains and bracelets will not be accepted. Seniors may wear class rings when available.
Male Students:
Pants: Long gray dress slacks only with length not to exceed the shoe sole. No cargo or oversized pants or pants with extra embroidery or printed designs will be permitted.
Shirt: White pullover or short-sleeve cotton shirt buttoned down at the front with a collar.
Shoes: (A) Black, brown or gray shoes. (B) Sneakers: black, white or gray. No boots of any kind will be permitted
Socks: White, blue or gray socks must be worn while wearing the school uniform.
Jewelry: One watch. Male students are not allowed to wear earrings; chains or bracelets will be allowed. Seniors may wear class rings when available.
Additionally, boys' and girls' hair must be uncovered and well groomed. Absolutely, no head caps, hats nor head wraps of any kind will be permitted, unless for proven religious persuasion.
Violations of the uniform policy in part or in its entirety will result in disciplinary actions to include being sent home until student is properly attired, according to a press release from the Department of Education.
