July 23, 2008 – Joseph Franco D'Abreu, also known as "Papa" or "Paps," of Mahogany Welcome died in North Carolina on July 20. He was 91 years old.
He is survived by his spouse: Veronica D'Abreu; daughters: Brenda Jaquez; Shirley Suarez; Bernadette Dania and Sonia E. Donohue; sons: Frank J. D'Abreu and Ronald H. D'Abreu; adopted daughter, Francis M. Vazquez; grandchildren: Janissa Lewis, Joshua D'Abreu, Mike J. Suarez, Anthony D'Abreu, Clarissa Florival-Victor, Valeska Roberts, Omar D'Abreu, Danielle Donohue, DeyJa Donohue, Darryl Donohue Jr.; and 15 great- grandchildren. He is also survived by stepdaughters: Gail Felix, Debbie Auguste and Lana Deleon; stepsons: Carl Mulran and Shane Deleon; special friends: Father Louis Kemayou, Leslie Barbour, Father Patrick Hoary, Deacon Ronald; and many other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
A viewing will take place at 9:30 a.m., on Tuesday, July 29, at St. Ann's Catholic Church. It will be followed by a funeral services at 10:30 a.m., at the church. Interment will be at Kingshill Cemetery.
