Annual July Open Billfish Tournament to Go for Four Days

The 45th Annual July Open Billfish Tournament, hosted by the Virgin Islands Game Fishing Club, will take place July 14-17. Past winners of the event's prestigious Give'M Line Trophy for best angler reads like a Who's Who of blue marlin sport fishing, with angler Elliot Fishman's winning 845-pound catch in 1968 setting an all-tackle world record. Only two anglers have reeled in this honor twice – the late Howard Crouse in 1965 and 1988, and Puerto Rico's legendary angler Ralph Christiansen in 1973 and 1984.
Proceeds from the tournament benefit the Boys & Girls Club of the Virgin Islands.
